Do I need to provide every address detail, as well as latitude and longitude, for a myZyp tag to work correctly? Not really. The easiest way to set up a tag is to identify the location on the map,in the set-up process. myZyp will attempt to figure out the address details. Conversely,a well-defined address (especially in the US or Europe), does not need lat/long information. Also, in some situations, you may want to provide additional details such as special rections, landmarks, road closures, and alternate routes in the Location Details field.
What should I name my myZyp tag?A myZyp tag can consist of any combination of up to 25 letters and/or numbers. It could be your mobile number, your name, (or a house name, if it has one!), or a cryptic code, as long as someone else is not already using it. All of the following are valid myZyp tags:
- &JohnSmithsHome
- &SmithsCornerPizza
- &JSX9898
- &6105551212
- &QWX384NJ91
What happens if I move my home address? Do I need to set up a new myZyp tag? No, just update your with the new address or location.
What happens when my myZyp tag expires?
A myZyp tag expires the day after its ‘expiration date’. By default, this is set to 2 years after the date it was created, but the tag owner can change this date at any time. After expiration, the tag will still show up in the address book of the owner, but other users will not be able to see or locate it.
How safe is my information?A myZyp tag, location details, and your nickname can be seen by anyone who looksup the tag on myZyp. The tag is not case sensitive, but we do not reveal the address information until the tag being searched for is typed in correctly and completely. If you are tagging your home address, and would like to maintain anonymity, we suggest that you avoid including your last name in the tag or tag details. Instead, use a combination of your initials (or first name), and a few digits. Also, you do not required to include the telephone number, if you do not want to.
What are “inappropriate” tags?myZyp reserves the right to delete tags that are named inappropriately, contain misleading information, or tags that have information that may infringe on someone’sprivacy. This includes:
- Tags that contain offensive or profane language (even if misspelt)
- Tags that contain misleading directions to public places
- Tags that may infringe on another individual or organization’s right to privacy
- Tags created for the sole purpose of ‘squatting’ on a well-known organization or individual’s name or trademark.
How do I report an inappropriate tag?If you come across an inappropriate tag, please report it to admin@myZyp.com.We will investigate the issue, and delete or disable the tag if necessary.
